Released in August 1970 as Stevie Wonder began to strive for greater creative control of his Motown output, Signed, Sealed and Delivered was the first album in which he received a producer credit. The all-time classic title cut earned Wonder his first Grammy nomination and spent an impressive six weeks atop the R&B chart, becoming his sixth soul No. 1 and first since Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day two years earlier. Additional hits from the album came in the form of Heaven Help Us All, Never Had a Dream Come True and an unmistakable cover of The Beatles We Can Work It Out.
